Why jamesbjork.com?

1) To tell the story of adopting two great little boys, in hopes of inspiring others to walk the same path

2) To get a few more gigs

3) It's only three bucks a month

4) NOT because I am under the delusion I have quite the chops of a fide performing "artist."  While I am musically inspired by full-time cats who who leave vapor trails ripping through bebop licks, I DO like to eat, own a home in Montgomery County, and to have a car that starts.  Ergo, Le Day Job.

If you are a band leader, I can fill in as a sub or add-on player

If you're looking for a saxophonist for your event, I can perform solo with pre-recorded accompaniment or I can assemble an ensemble to suit your preferences.

So why am I not using my "musician website" to sell a CD?

Honestly, there is nothing I could "say" musically that has not been already been much-better said many times by the absolute cream of the saxophonic crop.  (See point 4 above.)  I am content to do studio work for projects that feature other artists.

If I were ever to sit down and really record a project that featured me, it would be a low-budget affair, with unmarketed, un-barcoded CDs duplicated and given out to friends or loved ones on request.

Count me instead among the legions of skilled, trained players who will perform pleasingly for your event or studio session, but whose "album" if ever marketed would be politely and sympathetically purchased by friends and relatives, but no one else.

Keepin' it real...
